U.N. Adopts Nine Resolutions on Israel, Zero on Syria
On December 18th, the U.N. adopted nine resolutions concerning Palestinian rights and the Golan. Not surprisingly, these resolutions were "highly critical" of Israel. At the same time, the U.N. conveniently overlooked Syria's December 15th attack on a Mosque "in a Palestinian refugee camp near Damascus."In addition to the the attack on the Mosque, Syria is openly "massacring its own people," yet Israel is the world's bad guy?
The U.N. Watch's Hillel Neuer responded thus:
[This] farce at the General Assembly underscores a simple fact: the U.N.'s automatic majority has no interest in truly helping Palestinians, nor in protecting anyone's human rights; the goal of these ritual, one-sided condemnations remains the scapegoating of Israel.Making matters worse, by the end of this week the nine U.N. resolutions against Israel will have grown to 22, while only one is expected to be passed against Syria.
