Ha! CAIR on Defense: Steven Emerson sues Muslim Brotherhood front group
Let’s face it. The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is a bully. It is an entity that prefers to intimidate others into not exercising their right of free speech when critical of fundamentalist Islam. That’s what makes this little development noteworthy. Steven Emerson, the executive director for the Investigative Project on Terrorism (IPT) is suing CAIR.
Via Radial Islam:
Steven Emerson, the executive director of the Investigative Project on Terrorism, is suing Cyrus McGoldrick, the director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations—New York (CAIR-NY), for defamation of character. McGoldrick has a history of making inflammatory statements, including supporting Hamas’s violence and the elimination of the state of Israel.A hidden treasure and the best book written on the middle east ever – The Forgotten Ally, click for details.
The lawsuit was sparked by a tweet posted by McGoldrick that states, “Steve Emerson is an unindicted co-conspirator in the largest child pornography case in US history.”
The tweet was mocking the often-mentioned fact that organization McGoldrick serves, CAIR, is designated as an unindicted co-conspirator in the largest terrorism financing trial in U.S. history. Emerson’s complaint states that it “accuses [him] of having committed a vile crime and constitutes libel per se.”
Twitter can be a double-edged sword. The good side involves being able to quickly communicate your most honest and foremost thoughts. The bad side is that when your most honest, foremost thoughts consist of dishonest attempts to defame others, those attempts are made public.
Our hope is that Cyrus decides to defame us soon. We’ve learned a thing or two about being smeared.
In the meantime, good luck Steven.
Go get ‘em!
