Charles Krauthammer: ‘I’m Not Buying That James Clapper Changed the CIA’s Benghazi Talking Points’
Yesterday,
CBS News reported that Director of National Intelligence James
Clapper’s office changed the CIA’s talking points on the Sept. 11 terror
attack in Benghazi, Libya. The development came after days of questions
by Republicans, demanding
to know who decided to remove any mention of a terrorist group in the
talking points that were given to UN Ambassador Susan Rice in the days
after the attack.Rice ended up saying on several Sunday talk shows that the attack arose out of a spontaneous demonstration. Some have suggested the talking points were changed by the White House or the State Department, but yesterday’s report indicates Clapper’s office is apparently taking the blame.
On The O’Reilly Factor last night, Charles Krauthammer and Bill O’Reilly both said they’re not buying that Clapper was behind it.

Krauthammer pointed out that a week ago, the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Mich.), said that in closed-door testimony Clapper stated that he had no idea who changed the talking points.
“Now a week later he seems to discover that he did? That’s kind of strange. I’ve seen amnesia in my day … and (one week) is pretty quick,” Krauthammer said.
